A Knightly Wedding Quest From Worthing To London.

Hello Peeps,

.

I cannot seem to get away from the Royal Wedding at the moment, but I just could not resist telling you about a betting gentleman from Sussex, named Colin Bickers.

.

This man actually agreed to a very strange bet, which required him to walk 60+ miles from Worthing to London,  and arrive there in time for the royal wedding.

.

So far so easy you might say….and you would be right.

Except for the fact that this particular challenge required that Colin should also complete the challenge while wearing a suit of armour weighing about five stones .

.

The enterprising man did complete the epic journey on time, but was eventually frustrated in his original desire to place a red rose on the road in front of the royal carriage .

Unfortunately there were the usual safety barriers in place all along the route, so he had to make do with just throwing the rose as far as he could, hoping that it would hit the spot.

.

I want to know how much money he won!!!!

And is he going to be awarded a knighthood for completing his knightly quest!!!

.

But, all joking aside, this gentleman, who is 38 years old, took 6 days to complete his journey from Sussex, before finally arriving in London at about tea-time on Thursday.

He was tired, sore, bruised and blistered….but triumphant.

He had true grit!

.

He actually had a very serious motive for his epic trek, and managed to raise a whopping £3,000 for Help The Heroes and the Chestnut tree House Hospice.

Well done that man!
