A Murmuration Of Starlings.

Welcome to the beginnings of winter.
I just love the way that birds gather into flocks at this time in the dying year, and form into amazing squadrons which display in awesome patterns across the dusk and morning skies.
.
I often stand in the early dawn, cup of hot tea clasped in both hands, and watch them from my window.
Breathtaking!.
Up in Gretna the starlings are famous for their wonderful patterns, as they fly in huge flocks.
It is so beautiful to see, that admirers make their way there every year just to be newly amazed.

This display is hauntingly called a Murmuration Of Sparrows.
