A Pleasing Friday Morning.

Hi,

.

Is your Friday going well so far then?

I would hope so, if you have a Friday evening and all of a free weekend not touched yet.

If not, bad luck, and perhaps next weekend will be a better one.

.

We were both up really early this morning, because Big H had a 10,000 mile check booked in for the car at nine o’clock prompt….but we even had time for some breakfast….how is that for disciplined forward planning and a bit of heartless morning bullying.

.

While we were waiting in the garage, we spoke to a nice couple about the same age as ourselves, who had admired our car, which was posing seductively with its top down like a slinky automobile version of Jordan….minus the eyelashes of course!

They told us that they had been thinking of changing their hatchback for our model for a long time and asked us if we were happy with our choice.

Of course we waxed lyrical and told them how much fun we were having and how it had cheered Big H up immensely once he could be persuaded to go and look at a second hand one that I had seen on the Web.

I told them that he had fallen in love with it at first sight, which he totally corroborated, adding his own encouragement to my urging them to  ‘just do it’.

.

We discussed ….

….taking less luggage on holiday because of the smaller boot….my argument was that previously I only wore a few things out of everything I took with us anyway, and this meant less weight and far less bother.

.

….whether it was too hard for older people to get in and out of, because it is so low slung.

My argument was that everybody finds it a bit awkward at first but you quickly get used to it and you limber up too.

.

….had they left it too late?

Well, if you think like that you may as well book your Rest Home ahead of time.

Fun is where it is all at….for as long as you can do it.

.

….did it cause problems when grandchildren or children visited.

Well they could always have an outing on a train, that can be interesting sometimes.

.

….what about carrying lots of shopping.

….etc, etc, etc.

.

To be honest, I would advise anybody to buy an MX5, just for the fun of driving about with the top down in a slinky looking car like that.

It is like revisiting the days of my youth….with Lotus Elans and E-Type Jags….except for the wrinkles

.

We even played the Rolling Stones this morning.

Very loud.

.

I hope that they decided to buy one, but if people think that it’s too late….then it truly is!

.

Have an excellent Friday yourself.

J,x.
