All The Poor Snowmen Are Melting.
Greetings Dear Peeps,
.
Thank goodness we have a thaw setting in here now.
Today all of the huge, long icicles on the house have melted and all of the bits are lying crashed to pieces upon the ground.
I can go out to feed the birds without skidding about and risking life and limb to do it.
.
And all of the snowmen are melting away.
Yeaaaah!
.
Everyone here is totally sick of being cold and damp….and being very vocal about it too!
.
Yesterday, one of my friends rang me to say that the reason that I have not seen her about lately is because she fractured her shoulder falling on the ice.
She crossed the road and then slipped and crashed into a wall before falling to the ground.
.
This left her with a grazed face and hands, a swollen knee and a lot of pain, all on the left hand side of her body.
The hospital X-Ray she had the next day showed up the fracture, so she is confined to the house by order of her worried spouse who is afraid she will fall again and injure her other side as well.
.
As I told you, Big H and I have mostly spent our time snuggling in at home with the library books and the whiskey….obviously the wisest course of action for we older people.
.
I did paint the living room walls however and it is looking excellent.
Apart from a few more little necessary tweaks we are just about finished that room now.
As they say….every little it helps.
.
I am continuing to feed the birds and they are still refusing to come anywhere near me when I perilously make my way across the patio to the wall.
Ungrateful little feathered sods!
I still think that if they saw me unconscious in the garden they would peck out my eyes at the first opportunity….and then eat me.
But they are beautiful big birds.
.
I have already put on the electric blanket for tonight and I will soon be retiring to bed for a good read.
.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Probably this thaw is just a trick and tomorrow we will all awake to a foot of pristine snow in the morning.
.
I hope that you have had a good day and that you are enjoying a WARM evening .
.
Take care.
Jx
