Biba Is Born Again.

Good Morning Peeps,

.

Fiday, Friday, Friday.

It does not get much better than that!

.

Yesterday turned out to be an excellent day for me because it became stunningly hot and sunny here.

So good in fact, that we were motivated to get in the car, put the top down and go for a drive somewhere….which turned out to be the Gateshead Metro Centre.

.

Did you know that the House of Frazer there has just this minute opened a new ‘Biba’ concession.

This was irresistible to me because I was keen on the Biba Boutique style many years ago in the early 70′s, when I was young.

It was started by Barbara Hulanicki and was a totally iconic brand.

A totally fabulous source of the most wonderful clothes, as was Mary Quant.

.

Unfortunately for us, it closed in 1975 and we missed it badly.

.

Now it is back and it is good.

They had black marabou jackets that fluttered in the air.

Velvet and sequins and shirring and tailored tuxedo jackets again. Ahhhhh!

Not to mention a funky black wool military jacket…and I adore military style clothing.

Very similar to the original stuff we used to totally love

.

I did look for a leopard coat but there wasn’t one.

Fortunately, I talked to a lovely girl who is working there, and I found that there are some due in at any time.

I looked on-line and saw the pictures of a lovely ankle length fitted maxi coat which I shall definitely be watching for because it is so familiar to one of my favourite coats from that era.

Bliss!

.

So, a good day was had by all….except Big H….who does not seem to feel the same excitement at the rebirth of Biba.

Strange!!!!!

.

See ‘ya.

J.
