Christmas Eve Is Almost Here.

Hello People,

.

Finally,Christmas Eve is almost here, isn’t that wonderful!

It is such a different day, as everyone always seems buoyed up by anticipation.

Obviously not Christmas….but almost as good in it’s own way.

.

This morning I woke up in a panic because I was having a dream about a disaster.

It was Christmas Day and everyone was seating themselves at the table, including the very handsome male prostitute from a movie we watched last night on television.

This was all taking place in a huge kitchen that had room for a big dining table with lots of chairs….all full.

.

I was in the kitchen section and suddenly realized that there was no food cooking, no turkey ready, nothing.

Of course, I was desperately trying to find something that I could give them all as an appetiser, until I could sneak the turkey into the oven and get it cooked, without them all realising I was totally unprepared in every way.

Nightmare situation, I was so pleased to wake up and find that it was all just a dream.

.

Hopefully not a case of precognition!

.

Anyway, I got up and had a big pot of tea and a Warburton’s Potato Pancake and I feel so much better.

.

The crows were waiting in the tree this morning and were extremely raucous upon discovering that their pre-Christmas breakfast was a whole chopped up can of corned beef that I had opened a few days ago for sandwiches and then promptly forgotten all about.

I think that these must be the best fed birds…. ever.

No wonder they are all huge and gleaming and beautiful.

.

I don’t think that we will be doing very much today, although I am becoming consumed with the need to get myself a long woollen greatcoat from an army and navy stores.

It must be all of this freezing cold weather.

I did have one years ago and for the past week or so I have had a growing urge to buy another one…. if possible, in that light grey/blue that you find in the old eastern bloc army surplus.

.

I don’t know yet how I can persuade Big H that it would be a necessary last minute Christmas shopping expedition though!

This will tax even my ingenuity, but I reeeeeally need one….now!!!!

.

And perhaps a real fur army hat!

.

Please, please Father Christmas………I have been a very good girl.

.

I shall leave you now so that you can either….

continue feeling smug and superior because you are totally prepared for the celebrations….

or….

start girding your loins for two days of desperate fighting with the other last minute shoppers, all  hoping to bag the remaining, rapidly dwindling, stocks of necessities

.

Enjoy.

Jx.
