Cruelty In The City.

Hey.

.
.

How shocking to read that on Sunday yet another carriage horse collapsed while working in New York, ferrying tourists about the city.

People were shocked and horrified to see what had happened before their eyes.

.

Although the representatives of the horse and carriage business are reported in the media as saying that the incidents were merely unexpected incidents which had nothing to do with the animals having been overworked, there is much anger about what is happening and animal rights groups are protesting.

Reportedly, just a few weeks previously, another carriage horse had died after dropping down while working.

There are many protest groups now, and many films of seeming abuse have been uploaded onto YouTube by people who are disturbed by what they witness.
These includes apparent examples of horses working many hours in temperatures of over 90 degrees….which is against the law.
Horses being made to work excessive hours day and night.
The same horses seen working day after day with orthopedic disorders.
Horses who are said to be given insufficient amounts of drinking water.
.

One such example shows a bystander pointing out, to a ‘sympathetic’ driver, that a working NYC carriage horse is bleeding from the nose.
