Everything Went As Planned.

‘Good Morning’ to you.
Hoping that you are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed today.

I know Mondays can be seen as a bit of a downer, but look at it this way, you have survived the weekend!
You did not expire from either too much excitement, or from utter boredom, so you are ahead of the game.

My own Sunday went exactly as planned and we finished it off in style by watching a film called Apocalypto
It s really good and very realistic.
.

Mel Gibson is a talented director and he brings a lot to the table.
When he directed The Passion Of The Christ I was very surprised to read that he intended to film the whole thing in Aramaic and then add subtitles later. But it worked.
This film was also done using the language suitable to the period and dubbed later, and it worked so well too!

In my opinion ….a tour de force.
.
After the excitement of the film, nothing else was possible except for us to retire to bed with our current library books and a small whiskey each.

Today the weather is quite grey and overcast, but a lot warmer than it has been.
The blizzards that the waitress in Marshall’s was forecasting did not appear , so perhaps the Spring is nigh.
.
All of my pots of Hyacinths are showing inches of fat green shoots now, so I am totally looking forward to their flowering.
Once that happens, the place will be full of their heady scent for ages.
.
When I say patio….it is actually a large yard with a cast iron staircase….but what’s in a word!
The wisteria is well woven through the stair rails now and soon it will be achingly lovely once more.
There is always something to look forward to.
.
We do have a big garden, with a lawn and some trees, but it is some distance from the house, so the patio is the place for a quick glass of wine and a chill out.

I was doing my sums this morning.
I worked out that it is only a month until Big H retires for good.
.
This will not be the shocking change that it is for some people, because of his extreme ill health over the last few years, but at least it will stop him feeling stressed because he feels that he should be at work, doing his job.
It should give us more peace of mind but it is a shame because he always intended to work until he was at least 70 because he enjoyed it.
.
Still, you know what they say about the best laid plans and all that!!!!

Oh yes, I forgot something.
This morning I put out the birds’ breakfast as usual.
It included some Prawn Crackers left over from the weekend.
I had my camera ready so that I could take some pictures of them flying away with the huge crackers in their beaks.
I have not checked the results yet, but I will be very lucky if I got any good shots to share with you at all.
They are such quick little beggars.
The difficulty being, that once I got the camera in the right place, they had bloody gone.
