Fascination Of The Four Sisters.

Hi,

.

I spent some time yesterday, enjoying the work of a guy called Nicholas Nixon.

.

In 1975 he had a marvellous idea.
He decided to take a photograph of his wife, along with her three sisters.
.
The idea was that he would have them stand in order of their age, from oldest to youngest, and that he would repeat this yearly, keep the order exactly the same from photograph to photograph.
.
I found it all to be quite compelling to see the women grow and change over the course of their lives, yet still somehow stay the same.
.
A simple yet fascinating idea.

.

I wish that I had done that myself.

I love good photography.

The Four Brown Sisters.

.
Someone else did though.
Another photographer called Sally Mann.
.
Sally Mann named her work…. Immediate Family.
These are haunting images.
A beautiful exploration of children from childhood to puberty.
Totally awesome work by this photographer.

Beautiful!

.
WOW.
