Flower Power!
Good Morning People,
.
I was up early again today, in time to watch a reasonably nice sunrise….all faint and yellow through the cloud layer.
Perhaps we shall enjoy another variable yet mainly sunny day like yesterday, you just need to time it right between the rain showers and you can enjoy a fine walk in the sunshine.
.
What really pisses me off is when you think that the weather is not going to improve, and it is mid-afternoon, so you had better just get a walk in before it is too late….so you go for it.
We did that a few days ago, in light tops and flip-flops because it felt reasonably warm although the sky was darkish, and we got totally flattened by a biblical downpour when we were miles from home.
And don’t you just hate it when that happens!
Of course, when we finally made it back, we could not do the usual and enjoy a large and restorative whiskey because of our new and teetotal habits.
.
All we could do is get changed and dried before standing at the window and admiring the sudden appearance of a blindingly blue sky and intense sunshine.
And don’t you just hate it when that happens too!!
And so frequently!
.
I don’t think that we are going to do anything much today except a bit of reading and a reasonable walk later on.
But hey, some people would pay money for a relaxed and carefree day like that.
.
Sometimes it is brought to your attention that we are not grateful enough when life is quiet and seemingly ‘boring’.
That has been the case for me lately, because over the course of a few days I discovered that a number of people that I met at a big ‘do’ some time ago had suddenly died.
These were seemingly healthy people about sixty, who had died in their sleep or suddenly developed cancer and quickly expired.
.
One person in particular went from being healthy and enjoying a normal life without any surprises, to collapsing and being told that they were suffering from incurable and aggressive form of cancer.
Luckily their doctors are good and have found a course of treatment that will definitely extend life, perhaps for years….and who knows when the next cancer treatment breakthrough will happen.
Medicine is progressing in leaps and bounds nowadays, although I personally think that we can do a lot to help ourselves by taking care with our diet and with what we drink….and with what we think!
.
Just a couple of weeks ago I read that some researchers have had very promising results using a medication derived from the Crocus Plant.
The autumn crocus contains a substance called Colchicine, which is the basis of recent anti-cancer drug tests carried out at the University of Bradford.
.
The drug, derived from this pretty plant, seems to have a far-reaching effect upon many forms of cancer, which range from prostate cancer to breast cancer, and other forms of solid tumours.
.
It seems as if it has a ‘blanket effect’ on solid cancerous tissues, while leaving everything else alone, which is not the usual result of cancer treatments, which can be extremely toxic in their side effects.
.
In some of these early tests upon mice, results have shown that up to half of the cancers treated
had completely vanished altogether.
.
This new breakthrough was only possible because the innovative researchers were able to restrict the normally toxic effects of Colchicine until it actually reaches the cancerous cells, at which point it activates and kills them.
This would also appear to include the cancer cells which are shedding off and moving to seed in other areas of the body.
.
Although the promising tests are only in the early stages, the results are so exciting that it may be tested upon human cancer patients within a couple of years.
.
The most amazing result from the tests upon mice is that it appears to need only one treatment to remove the cancers completely….and this would be effective treatment for all but the cancers of the blood.
.
Interestingly there have been other people who have been said to have discovered effective ways of curing cancer, and with little side effects.
This however would obviously remove the need for drug companies to provide their expensive drugs….not a popular option for them I should imagine.

And Dr Otto Warberg, the 1931 Nobel Prize winner.
.
The strange thing about modern medicine, in my opinion, is that doctors are not interested in the balance and wellness and ‘ease’ of the ‘complete being’, the are only interested in the ‘dis-ease’….and treat only the symptoms.
.
Ahh, life can be so interesting!
