Freedom Is Not Just A Word.

Hi,

.

I thought you might like to hear yet another story about the work carried out to rescue and re-house laboratory animals.

This time it is shown on a video posted by the Freedom Beagle project.

.

These dogs were born especially to live such a restricted life, where they were kept in cages in the laboratories and used for testing.

For them, no such things as human companionship, no grass and no sunshine, no loving touch.

Just research tools with no names, idenfified only by the serial numbers marked on the inside surface their ears..

.

Like many laboratory animals, these beagles had no real experience of a normal life.

Until, suddenly, on June 6th 2011, ARME were contacted and informed that the nine dogs were no longer needed.

.

For the second time the team were able to carry out a rescue and resettlment project.

.

As they were going to be taken on a drive of many hours to reach their new sanctuary, they were quickly taken to a grassy area to relieve their anxiety about being with new humans and in an unknown situation, and to let them taste freedom and loving attention for what may well have been the first time in their lives.

.

It took ten minutes for the first dog to have the courage to step out from the cage and experience the grass …. and petting.

Freedom.
