Getting Warmer By The Day.

Hey,

.

Well, I was up late again this morning….and this time I know why!

.

Yesterday afternoon we went out to get some Christmas shopping and we also bought an Electric Blanket.

Big H is always feeling cold and shivery nowadays and he sleeps badly, often waking me up at many different times over one night.

.

What a success that particular purchase was.

We put the blanket on the bed, warmed it up a bit and then retired for the night.

I switched my side off, but Big H kept his on at a lower setting

We made spoons and then went straight to sleep.

.

I woke up after nine and got up straight up.

I was amazed to see that the bed looked totally undisturbed by human intervention.

Instead of twisted bedding and pillows on the floor, it actually looked as if Big H had not moved one inch from the moment he went to sleep.

.

Now that is a result….unless he’s actually dead of course….I did not check!

Oh-Oh!

.

On Sunday, our youngest son rang us from Homebase, to say that they had an amazing offer available on rolls of loft insulation.

You can get four rolls of 200mm Space Blanket Loft Insulation for the price of one.

We went in, ordered it and paid for home delivery at the same time.

Brilliant!

Now we will be even warmer.

.

This information is useless to those of you who live in other parts of the world….special Hi to Nelly!….but at least you can feel envious.

.

Isn’t it funny that igloos, made of snow, are warm!

Just the idea makes me feel cold!

.

At the weekend I bought six pots of Hyacinths in a local flower shop.

I have put them in the large fire grate in the living room, so that they fill up the fireplace, but do not annoy me by looking intidy or falling over.

What a success.

They are all opening out to be either blue or white and the scent is lying, exotic and heavy, throughout the house.

Fabulous.

.

As it is still very dark, grey and rainy here today and Big H got tired out yesterday, I do not think that we shall do very much at all except wrap the presents that we have chosen so far.

But hey, if you add some Christmas music, some quality dark chocolate ginger and a few glasses of Whiskey, then you have the makings of a fine, cosy, joyful day.

The rain hitting the windows will be a fine counterpoint .,

.

Isn’t it sad for all the poor people who are living on the streets and who do not have the choice of comfort, light and warmth.

We are so blessed to enjoy these lives of ours….which we often do not appreciate at all.

.

I have been pigging out lately on satsumas, I have been snarfing through hundreds of them.

Now, according to the dental adverts, I have thinned my tooth enamel horribly and it will all get brushed off if I don’t stop it….and use their toothpaste.

Why don’t they all just bugger of and mind their own business.

It’s Christmas!

.

I shall have to go and put on the lights now because it has grown so dark in the room that I cannot see the keyboard clearly anymore.

And another huge cup of tea  would go down very, very well too.

Now there’s a plan!

.

Have a fine day yourself,

Jaksie.
