What is the most wanted toy for Christmas?
It’s a GO GO Hamster at £9.99
There are various ones, in different colours, and with different names, and with lots of expensive accessories too.

You didn’t know that! What planet are you living on!

I know this because I was reading a list of popular toys and Big H and I decided that we would buy a couple of these bloody GO Go Hamsters for a child.

Sounds simple does it not!
.
Well it is a nightmare.
Everything is completely sold out already.
.
I think that retailers have been cautious about stocking up on toys because of the depression and now they have been caught short. Totally.
.
Big H looked on Amazon’s website, to buy a couple there, but he was absolutely disgusted with them because some suppliers are advertising them at unbelievable prices through their site.
For example Toys And Games And Gifts were advertising them at about £32.95 singly….or all three for £97-93.
What!!!!
Still, if people are prepared to pay that then they can do so, but it is total robbery.
You are also asking crazy prices on E Bay and some online shops.
I think that it is called extortion business!

Having said that, I remember years ago when Cabbage Patch dolls became the Xmas Craze, parents were said to be flying over to America to get them there….and fighting over them in shops.

Can you imagine that happening now.
Getting stomped, punched and elbowed because you were lucky enough to pick up the last one available in the store!
.
Aren’t crazes weird things.
All of a sudden everyone gets brainwashed into spending hours searching for some meaningless thing, some absolutely must-have item.
We are all lemmings, but in a way it is fun.
For once everyone is of a single mind, they are all going in one direction, with only one goal in collective sight.
Sometimes it’s used to break rustlers out of jail so that the mob can hang them in some Western town when John Wayne is not looking.
Other times it is for the satisfaction of obtaining something that is hard to source because Father Christmas does not want to disappoint the small believers.

Shame we cannot be the same with regard to conservation, broken government promises, thieving politicians, neglected young people and decent treatment for everyone.
My God, we could actually do something about things for once….and do it in double quick time too.

Unfortunately life does not work in that sort of way.
.
And, of course, no one likes to disappoint a child…we want them to be happy and have what they want.
.
Last year we managed to get hold of an Emo toy….totally brilliant by the way!
This year it IS going to be at least one Go Go Hamster if I can manage it.
.
So, if you are in a store on a similar important mission and you see a mad looking old granny bearing down on you, teeth bared, and there is only one left. WATCH OUT!
So, don’t say you have not been fairly warned.
And I am fairly lethal with the old handbag too!

Be afraid, be very afraid, if you are looking for one in the same shop as me.
