Has The 1947 Roswell UFO Incident Been Confirmed?

Great excitement and consternation amongst on-line UFO aficionados at the moment.
All concerning the Roswell Incident.

Roswell happened in 1947.
There were reports from local people in New Mexico, regarding the crashing of a strange object that had been found on ranch land.
During the first few days afterwards, there was a lot of activity and newspaper articles about there being an alien craft which had crash landed, and which had also contained non-human bodies.
Roswell military sources seeming to confirm this.

All evidence was then said to have been quickly removed by the military and witnesses told to be silent.
.
Shortly after, an official statement was issued to say that the earlier reports were not correct because the object had actually been a classified new air balloon.
Interest in the event then quickly waned.
.
Many years later on, in the 1970′s, the whole incident re-surfaced when a retired Major, said to have taken part in the original clear-up, told a very different story.
It seemed that there really had been an alien spacecraft, and crew, involved.
.
These revelations were seemingly reinforced by other witnesses who also said that alien beings had been recovered and taken away for autopsies to be secretly performed.
.
Although all of these claims were strenuously denied by those in power, who stated that the original balloon story was true, many Ufologists believed that there had been a definite cover-up.
That gave birth to a conspiracy theory.

Many sites are now reporting that finally the US FBI has admitted that flying saucers did actually land in New Mexico in the 1940′s.
That not only did a spaceship crash, but aliens were also recovered afterwards, and autopsies were performed.
There is reported to have been a breakthrough because of the freedom of information releases of government files.

It seems that there are documents now released on-line by the FBI which confirm that the Roswell Crash, so long denied, was actually true.
Papers being said to show that 50′ spacecraft, and 3′ tall aliens, were really found.
