Hotels Are Unsafe Now.

Hi,

.

This  is not really a subject that I am happy with because I totally hate the thought of blood sucking creepie-crawlies, but unfortunately this subject is such a relevant one nowadays.

Especially if you like spending time in hotels….and this includes the very best ones too.

Especially if you like holidaying in America.

Especially if you like the edgy vibe of New York.

I did tell you about the horrible problem in another post.

.

Yes, I am once again edging towards that horrible subject of bedbugs, or, to give them their sunday name…..Cimex Lectularius.

.

As you might have expected, the problem is not disappearing, and great care must be taken if you do not want to bring these horrible invidious bloody things back home with you in your suitcase after staying in a hotel.

.

There is one thing that you can do if you want to try and minimize your chances of meeting up with these creatures while you visit America, and there are many good reason to do so.

.

Many of the big cities are affected, the worst ones including New York, Philadelphia and Chicago.

.

There is now an iPhone app, Bed bug Alert.

The app (£1.25) will check out the ten worst affected cities.

It was developed by a man called Adam Kotkin, and uses geolocation, which provides information so that would-be travellers can examine Googlemaps to see if there have been outbreaks of bedbugs in the areas they are interested in.

.

I don’t know about you, but nowadays I have no desire to travel at all if this sort of thing is going on and you can pick up the horrible things in airports and buses and the underground.

Just the thought that if there are a couple of bedbugs they can increase to thousands in a couple of weeks!

Urghhhhhhhhhhh.

Urghhhhhhhhhhh.

Urghhhhhhhhhhh.

There are also aids like the BB Passive Detector.
