How To Cock-Up Your Life.
Hi,
.
And a good morning to you all.
.
I hope that you have had a calm week earning your daily crust, in a way that does not cause you to upset too many people.
Unlike a lady who lives in Melbourne, called Libby Ashby.
.
She has just caused such offence to her local church that she has now been ‘unfellowshipped’ by it’s members.
.
The trouble came about because she took part in a very funny advert about ‘erectile dysfunction’.
.
The lady, who is a single mother, admitted that she knew that it was not in the best of taste but she needed the cash because ‘her Visa was calling out for mercy’.
She was also qoted as saying that the bible speaks very openly about sex in an honourable way, but she didn’t think that this was very honourable.
.
It seems that she will be reinstated back into her church, which she left unnamed, once the controversial ad is off the air.
.
This is the ad in question…
.
.
.
I expect that many of the more explicit ads for things such as condoms and Viagra may well upset people even more, even though they can be very funny too.
Here are some examples!
.
I actually think that this one has been banned from TV already…
.
.
Also this one…
.
.
.
.
.
And so….have a safe day.

okay that’s funny …esp. the music in the background.
On a more serious note re: offensive broadcasting > I’m offended by people that censor content based on their own sense of offense..
I loved the condom commercial of the boy throwing a fit. Very clever- and speaks to the audience (for example, teenagers and people not ready for that sort of commitment yet).
There’s a tonne of prejudice and close-minded thinking going on at the top layer of decision makers and broadcasters, so I find it hypocritical that we condemn intolerance and dictatorship when we ourselves undergo little bits of it through this type of behaviour.
I’m also *offended* by people using God as a weapon of intolerance. Makes me think we learned nothing from the past 500 years or so
The woman is good enough to attend church and try to pay her bills – let her be.

Hi,
.
I loved the Steve Hughes link….he reminded me of Billy Connolly.
.
I get so sick of the modern fear of saying anything at all, because it might not be PC.
.
It is all the nanny state now, telling us all what we are, and are not, allowed to do and say.
Not a good plan for a healthy, balanced, safe society at all.
.
Personally I think that we can all have our opinions on everything, but we should not need to try and influence eveyone else to do it our way.
Why can’t everyone live in peace, doing their own thing, and being kind and caring about others.
.
Why does that seem to be a seemingly more impossible dream with every passing year.

.
I don’t really think it’s that impossible a dream. Everytime I throw my hands in the air and decide to write off everyone, I just reread this
http://www.kipling.org.uk/poems_if.htm.
If you think the UK is PC, think again. You may be slightly appropriate, but nowhere near us. Look at your broadcasting, you get away with so much – we fire people if they “imply” something. We took PC to a whole new level, and made a sissy nation out of it.
an interesting thing I came across today, can’t wait to see the documentary. Not for the fainthearted though [scroll to the bottom for trailer].

Have a good day
nelly.
Yeah, you are right.
We must keep on trying or nothing improves.
.
What is it they say… ‘all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing’.
.
Keep on keeping on Nelly,
