Iain Glen Rocks.
Hi and a good morning to you,
.
We are on to Tuesday now….so the week is moving on.
.
I hope that yesterday went well for you.
I had a good evening last night myself, I really enjoyed it.
.
As we were not doing anything much we decided to watch a film that I had recorded recently.
It was a film about a group of Irishmen in a small place somewhere in the country.
What a little gem.
.
The story line follows a man who is shy, insecure and with no confidence in himself at all.
His best friend is a total shit too, jealous and untrustworthy.
.
Anyway, the lead is called Doug and he writes and sings songs, but although he would like to try and make it as a singer he is too insecure to try and do it, or let anyone hear him.
.
The film is called ‘Small Engine Repair’ and Iain Glen is the actor who plays Doug.
I recorded it mostly because he is very much to my personal taste, being tall and red haired, and I always enjoy watching him act.
.
Small Engine Repair .
.
.
Imagine my surprise to suddenly find that he is an amazingly good country singer too.
He has a most beautiful low tone which he uses to great effect in the film.
If he was not such a good actor then I think he could easily have been as popular as most of the country singers I have heard.
I would seriously recommend the film….I loved it!
.
After that we decided to go for it, and we watched the re-make of ‘The Italian Job’ so that Big H could really enjoy something too.
It was the modern version starring Mark Wahlberg and Jason Statham, and it is a very good and very slick film, but it differs the first version.
.
.
And nobody sang, good or bad!
.
The first version is still a most brilliant film, and Michael Caine was great, and if any of you have not seen it then you should definitely do so because it a a real classic with a fabulous car chase that was an eye-opener at the time, and it has a cliff-hanger ending.
.
A good Monday was definitely had by me, although I have to admit that Big H was not so keen on the first film because he likes big blockbusters with car chases and a ‘shooting a minute’ action, but he did agree about the singing.
Go on, watch it, you know you want to!
J,x.
