Is Cheap Meat Worth The Cost!

I thought about a bacon sandwich this morning but I just could not actually do it.
I think that I may end up a bloody vegetarian through the sheer shame of the way we allow farm animals to be treated on the way to the dinner table.
Why, for the sake of even more profit, do we allow such cruelty to continue to take place.

In recent footage shown in the media, taken in a Somerset farm a month or so ago by Viva campaigners, there was harrowing footage which revealed the dreadful treatment of baby pigs who were not more than a week old.
.
They are shown being handled, with no anesthetics, while their teeth are cut off with pliers and their tails are clipped off with scissors, and it is presented as the shocking stuff it is.
.
But hey, it is nothing new….this next film was uploaded a year ago to show the treatment given to piglets bred for meat, seemingly by the actual breeders!

Sadly, callous and inhumane treatment is prevalent in many areas of animal farming and in most countries.
