Last Day Of The Holiday Today.

I am up a bit early again today and I have tidied up the living room, fed the birds and stacked the dishwasher.
Well done me!

It is a strange looking day today because the sun is rising and shining beautifully in one part of the sky, which is a bright blue, yet the other side of the sky is a dirty, glowering shade of grey.
Hard to tell how the weather will end up, but that is nothing new here.

Yesterday we all decided to go to Tynemouth for fish and chips, followed by a bracing walk on the beach.
I say bracing but I suppose that does not describe it accurately because it was totally freezing cold and very windy.
Luckily we found a ball and had a fast game of football, which definitely helps to stop you freezing to death.
When you consider that it is May now I have to say that it does not bode well for the summer.

However we did not let it stop us from having fun, because we ended by setting up a combination picnic table and chairs on the least windy area of the bay, and then having cups of hot tea, because we had cleverly remembered to take a flask of hot water and teabags for just such a need for urgent central heating.
It is true to say that the British are not usually very far from a cup of reviving tea!
It was one of the foundation stones upon which was built the British Empire.

It was the most wonderful of days….and we found a huge dead fish lying in a seawater pool amongst the rocks.
I expect it will probably end up eaten by the huge seagulls who live there.
We took our leftover chips down to the beach to feed them all and we ended up mobbed by the greedy things as they flew in a flock over our heads fighting for them.
What a noise they made.

Big H got laughed at when we noticed that the back of his best black leather jacket had huge white spots of seagull poo spattered all over the back.
There’s gratitude for you!
They say that it is lucky to have that happen but I cannot see how it could be.
I think that it was just made up to make the poor victim feel a bit better about it.
