Life After ‘The Bill’.

.

Hi, to all you quite-possibly-grumpy Monday Peeps,

.

Today’s post is about a prime example of not just giving up when unexpected change comes.

Sometimes, although it is unwelcome, it can allow your dreams to come true because you have nothing more to lose by trying.

.

It concerns an actor called Jeff Stewart, who was for many years a well known character in a British police show called The Bill.

He played a pretty soft and inept policeman by the name of PC Reg Hollis.

.

After many safe years in this show, he was suddenly and unexpectedly sacked in 2008.

.

It was then reported that for him, the shock was so unbearable that he immediately tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrists, and was only saved because he changed his mind and rang for help before it was too late.

.

Once he was recovered he tried getting on with acting again, beginning by working on a very different personal look for himself, so that he would not be stereotyped by having been playing his previous role for 24 years.

He grew his hair wildly and was not even barely recognisable any longer, at which point he was well received.

.

This renaissance was eventually followed by a trip to America to cinch the part in ‘Under Jakob’s Ladder’.

.

Happily, the newly emerged Jeff has just won the best Actor Award at the Manhattan Film Festival, while the film was awarded the Best Film Award.

So popular is he, at 55, that he has already been signed for several further films.

.

Under Jakob’s Ladder.
.

.
Just to remember the old ‘PC Reg Hollis’.
.

.

Well, what do you think of that then?

.

It just goes to show that sometimes a good change in life comes by means of a painful experience.
It is never good to give up, because if the change had not come then the new experience would never have been tried, but is always easier to just play safe.

.

Jeff Stewart has now reached heights that would never have been reached for while he was safe in a police soap.

.

Well done him….now he is the big star that he could only have dreamed of previously.

.

Have a starring part in today yourself!
