Life Has Many Surprises.

Hi,

.

How are you today.

I hope that your week is progressing well.

.

It was raining (big surprise!) yesterday, so I was spending a lot of time reading.

Eventually I came across the intriguing story of a lady called Jill Hawkins, who is unmarried, but loves being pregnant.

She is 45, and has been pregnant 8 times as a surrogate mother and has given away all of the babies.

The eighth was the first child who was not created using her own eggs, as the egg and the sperm were from the would-be parents, who could not have a second child because of medical problems.

This last pregnancy was not an easy one and the problems she faced have resulted in the lady deciding that she cannot do it anymore.

.

She must have made 16 people very very happy!

.

That bit of reading led on to an unusual story of a Peruvian girl named Lina Medina, who came from a Andean village in Peru.

Lina was five years old when she was taken to hospital to get treatment for a growth in her abdomen.

.

Stunned doctors examined her and found that she was 7 months pregnant.

Amazingly, menarche was thought to have occurred at 8 months.

.

The baby boy survived after being delivered by Cesarean Section.

Some reports say the father was reported to have been arrested for alleged incest but was later released without charge and the matter remains a mystery.

This all took place in 1939.

Hard to believe!

.

.

Talking about unexpected pregnancies.

What about the most recent little arrival at the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, which is situated at Dalton-in-Furness, in Cumbria.

.

A female Sumatran tiger called Alisha is kept there, being one of a subspecies of rare tigers.

Unfortunately, even worldwide, there are very few of them left now, probably not more than a few hundred in total.
.

.

Well, one morning strange and unusual noises were heard in the tiger enclosure.

Upon closer investigation, it became obvious that there was a new baby tiger present, which had been born to Alisha during the night.

There was great surprise and excitement because no-one had even suspected that there had even been a pregnancy underway.

.

The new cub has been named as Kadi, and is doing well in a home a long way from Sumatra, being assiduously bottle-fed by the thrilled staff.

.

This is a strange world sometimes.

Have an unusual day,

J,x.
