Lost Land Of the Tiger. Episode Three.
Hi,
.
Oh my God, what a great series this is, so real and exciting and important for the survival of the tigers,
.
Dr Rabinowitz is so intense about helping these beautiful big cats.
It is so touching that he is able to use his terminal and untreatable cancer as a spur, to keep him moving and shaking in order to do as much as he can to help his tigers survive, for as long as he is able.
.
The other members of the team are wonderfully involved, according to their specialities, and are prepared to do anything that is needed.
Some of it looks very dangerous, and it is something I could never do, not with all of the scary things living in the jungle area.
The place is seething with life.
The tarantulas are huge, the snakes are massive and have huge fangs, and there are those horrible leeches all over the place.
Seeing them being pulled off the skin and leaving bleeding holes all over was just ‘YUK’, I was actually watching that bit through my fingers.
.
In this episode it was so important to discover proof that tigers can exist, and breed, at the higher altitudes.
How emotional to see the cameraman crying to finally view the film from a remote camera which had been left to record at over 4,000 metres, and discover both a male and a female tiger passing by it.
.
The evidence gathered by the team was formally presented to the Bhutan leaders as proof of the importance of helping to create a tiger ‘corridor’ to allow the breeding and expansion of a tiger population, free from poaching.
The reaction was very positive and holds great promise for the survival of the tiger.

You really have to admire such committed, gung-ho people!
Those like me would still be saying ‘Oh, what a shame’ when the last tiger is killed.
I cannot applaud them enough for their efforts to help.
They are outstanding!
