Me And Zippy.
Hey,
.
I wish you a happy Sunday, an enjoyable read of the newspapers and then a fine dinner….just like me!
But I suspect that the more technologically inclined amongst you, just have a quick look online, if you want to find out what is happening in the world.
.
Does this mean that quite soon there will be no newspapers anymore and that what seemed like such a permanent part of life, as well as such a powerful industry, will just die or morph into something entirely different.
.
Isn’t it exciting how computers and the web are changing our world.
.
When I was a child, people had to entertain each other at parties.
.
I sometimes cannot believe that we did not get a television at home until I was about fourteen.
Even then it was black and white and was only active for certain hours of the day.
I also found the whole stance of the broadcasting to be very patronising.
.
Teenagers did not even begin to exist until I was young, as before that young people were just little copies of their parents, with the same hopes and aspirations.
Television was the beginning of Anarchy!
.
Talking about technology, did you look at my blog about X Factor yesterday?
I actually embedded the contestants’ performance videos into my post, instead of just providing links to the Tube.
.
EMBEDDED THEM!!!!!!!….how about that!!!!!
It is actually all due to the patient Mr T yet again.
.
He rang me up and terrified me by telling me that it was about time that I improved my X Factor offerings.
I was totally horrified and went off it, with much loud protesting that it was a step too far.
.
He calmed me down, before slowly taking me through the process, until I understood the steps to take.
This then being followed by him slowly repeating the steps in Zippy language, until I got them all written down clearly, in simple words.
.
When we do this, it is like an old childrens’ show called Rainbow, which I used to watch with the boys when they were very young.
It consisted of a man called Jeffrey talking to various stuffed puppets, one of which was called Zippy*, because his mouth was an open zip.
Jeffrey would often zip his mouth shut when he was sick of him talking.
.
Jeffrey used to talk to Zippy very slowly and clearly, in simple words that the young listening audience could understand easily.
When Mr T began teaching me about having a blog, I used to get panicky, asking him to keep it simple, just as if he was talking to Zippy.
.
After that, I began to be less frightened of it all, with visible improvement taking place.
The step, of writing it all down, is necessary because I do not have any actual, true understanding of what I am doing…..it is just me following the steps parrot fashion.
.
I love blogging now, but If I lose my book of instructions, then all the magic will die.
.
So, I hope you are impressed ‘cos I certainly am!
.
It is X Factor results tonight so I shall see you later on today I hope.
Have a good one.
J x.

For your edification….this is Zippy!
