Well, people are always saying that they are worked to death, but how about earning a very cool £174m in just one year, after you are actually dead.

Such is the fascination with Michael Jackson that he earned more money this year than the combined income of Jay-Z, Lady Gaga and Madonna …and they are still alive and kicking.

The income stream generated for the Jackson estate is beating even that earned by the perennially adored Elvis Presley.
Michael Jackson is now the number one in the ‘dead celebrities top earnings list’.

It is surprising really when you think that after the Michael Jackson’s death in 2009, at the age of 50, he was found to have left debts of £315m.

At the time he died, he had been planning to perform a series of come-back performances.
The film that was taken at that time, recording his preparations for these concerts, was made into a fascinating and poignant ‘This Is It’ movie, which was very successful.
There have also been massive CD sales figures since his death.
There is also an up-swell of interest in anything to do with him, his life and a forthcoming auction of photographs is to be held soon in Paris.
