More Of The ‘Same Old Same Old’.

Hello Again,

.

Congratulations on having the luxury of a Saturday laid out before you….and sorry if yours includes going to work!

Back in the day, I used to adore waking up on a Saturday morning and then suddenly realising that I could lie there a bit longer if I wanted too, it was like suddenly being let out of prison.

The usual nine to five never really did it for me!

.

Yesterday the weird and heavy fog persisted until almost lunchtime before it suddenly cleared away completely, and left us with very heavy dark clouds and monsoon-like rainfall for the rest of the day.

.

It did not really matter to me by then, because I felt quite chilled and ill for some reason, and eventually had to retire back to my bed mid-afternoon.

.

After a good sleep, and getting warmed up a bit, I spent the rest of the day reading my last library book and doing a bit of writing in the notebook that I always keep beside the bed in case inspiration strikes.

.

It was actually quite pleasant lying there and hearing the rain thrash furiously against the windows.

Given that, I was not at all frustrated at being a-bed, because even if I had felt incredibly well we would not have been going anywhere anyway.

.

The best part was having food and drink brought to me by my loyal, old, dark-garbed and hunchbacked family retainer, known as Big H.

.

He managed to prepare half of a beefburger for me, with onions, nestled in a nice soft brown bun.

When I saw it on the plate I did not expect to be able to eat it, me being more of a ‘tiny ham sandwich and grapes’ type of invalid….but I tore off a few bits and before I knew it- it was gone.

.

Today I am up early again and feeling fine once more.

Of course, it is still a world of rain here, but we will have to go out and swim to the library because it is no good relying on the television to be entertaining ….unless I have short term memory loss and do not realise that most of the advertised programmes seemed to be on last week!!!!!!

The highpoint of today is that the postman has not been yet, and who knows what goodies he may bring me!

.

Have a fine rein-free ( joke ) one yourself.

Jaksie,x.
