Mystery Creature In British Waterways.
So,

Something strange is lurking in the waterways in East London, near to the new Olympic Park.
.
A witness was out with friends for a boatride on the River Lea in November.
.
They were all commenting on a big Canada Goose, adult birds being said to be approximately 16 lbs on average, when it suddenly dissappeared before their amazed eyes.
.
Apparently, the bird just went straight down and under without a struggle.
.
This is not the first time that this has happened either.
In 2005, the same thing happened to another goose.
At the time experts were puzzled and gave various opinions about what could have happened.
These covered predators such as Pike, Mink, released exotic pets such as Crocodiles or Snapping Turtles, or even a Python.
I have my doubts about some of those suggestions myself, as I always thought that crocodiles and pythons etc. would feel the need to be slightly warmer than they would be living here in Britain …. which is exactly how I feel about too!

Sadly, it has also been noticed that there has been a significant reduction in the numbers of Swans in the area too.

So, what can it be?

Personally, I have an idea that we may be witnessing the return of the Creature From The Black Lagoon!
