Natural Selection.( Big H sneaked up on me.)

Hey,

.

Why do fools fall in love?

.

What do you think causes people to fall in love.

Is it the chemistry,  is it just fated to be, is it the pheromones, is it some unexplainable thing that grows in intensity in direct correlation to the size of the wallet, is it finding the exactly- fitting, missing part of yourself?

.

Or,

.

Is it much more simple than all of that.

Is it like attracting like.

Has it escaped your notice how often married couples, or pairs who are deeply in lust, look exactly like each other.

I often think that couples look exactly like sister and brother.

It used to be quite fun to look in our local paper years ago, when they printed pages of pictures of newly weds on the centre pages, and check out the look- alikes.

I saw a picture of Sandra Bullock and her husband, tough guy Jesse James a while ago and thought they looked a lot alike too, but that is the only time I have seen him so it may just be a fluke.

.

It is understandable because we love our own families, and the first men or women we totally love, are members of that family.

We also get used to how we look personally, which is not surprising at all when you consider the hours teenagers spend looking at nothing else but their own faces for long hours, bemoaning various perceived spots and bumps.

There must be an instant moment of familiarity and recognition when we see a similar face to our own.

.

When I was young I always thought that my own brother was just about the best looking guy that I had ever seen, and I still find him very attractive.

In fact my natural first choice of men was always for the tall, dark and handsome guy, just like him.

Or perhaps I just read too many Mills and Boon books in my formative years.

.

Unfortunately, my excellent theory is disproved by my own choice of partner, because Big H is an average sized, blond, blue eyed person and not at all my type.

We met at work and I got used to him because he really liked me from the start and he could also make me laugh.

.

Actually, the truth of the matter is that he sneaked up on me when I was not looking.

.

Once he has  exploded, and I need another man, I shall no doubt return to type and pick someone who looks just like me.

.

On second thoughts, why the hell would I want an old man with a faint moustache, a hairy chin, thick glasses, long grey straggling hair and wrinkles!

Perhaps I will just get myself a cat.

A big, dark, handsome one who likes to sit on my knee and be played with.

.

LOL
