New DR Congo Impact Crater Found.
Hi,
Well, there is interesting news afoot.
.
It seems that a report by Italian researchers has identified a huge crater of up to 46km in central Africa.
.
It is thought to have been caused by impact.
Perhaps happening after the Jurassic Period.
There are less than 30 craters of this sort of size at present, and it was revealed by the effects of recent deforestation in the area.
.
The scientists, at the University Of Padua, would now need to go to examine the site in person, to study the area and the rock formations.
If the scientists are correct in their theory, then the rock that caused the crater must have measured around 2km in width.
.
WOW,
J.
