New Medical Breakthrough. Stem Cell Treatment For Burns.

Hi Folks,
.

.
Today I read about a new and seemingly wondrous innovation in medicine that is in it’s early stage of development, said to have been recently highlighted on The National Geographic Channel.

It concerned the development of a method of stem cell treatment to be used for the treatment of burns injury patients.
.
The inventor of this amazing gun is said to be the rather dishy Dr. Jorg Gerlach, a Professor at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
.
This amazing man is described as having invented a process whereby he can take healthy stem cells from a burns victim, and quickly incorporate them into a solution which is then sprayed onto the injured skin.
.
The entire process of this method of treating burns, from obtaining the cells to doing the spraying, takes about 1.5 hours on average.
.
Apparently the doctor has described the invention as being very similar to a paint spray, which coats the damaged skin of the burns victim soon after the damage is done.
.
Still experimental at the moment, reports say that the process is showing good results when applied to the skin of test subjects with burns.

The healing rate is also reported as being impressive in those tests.
.
Wow, how amazing would something like that be!

I certainly do hope that all of the reports are correct, and that eventually the treatment for burns victims will be much faster and easier, and with less possibility of infections and painful  grafting, than at present.
