Newcastle United Should Be Owned By The Geordie Fans.

Hey,

.

Well, even if you are at work, I hope that you are feeling well and happy.

.

It is still all go here, with the same nose stinging smell of fresh paint pervading the whole house.

Those guys are painting demons!

.

We had a slight hiccup with the roof work being done this morning.

As I told you, the scaffold was put up yesterday, but the boss rang me this morning to say that there has been an unexpected hiccup in their work schedule.

He does not want to start work on a Friday and then leave it unfinished all weekend, so the work will begin on Monday morning instead.

That’s Ok with me…an admirable work ethic!

.

Of course the weather is totally brilliant today so I hope that it lasts a while, given that we have just had days of heavy downpour.

.

However, it is no good trying to second guess British weather, because it is so changeable.

I wonder what it would be like to live in a place where you know that there will be blue skies for weeks, or months, on end.

Or where you know that there will be one hour of Monsoon rain at four o’clock every afternoon.

.

I don’t exactly know for sure that that happens with the Monsoon, but I have read that it does…unless someone wants to post a comment to verify that…or not!

Everyone seems very upset around here because of the actions of the owner of Newcastle United Football Club.

He has changed the name of ‘St. James’s Park ‘ which is Newcastle United’s venerated football ground, and has been since 1892.

He has changed it to …sportsdirect.com@St James’s Park…..and the fans are absolutely furious about it.

.

This is because, to the Geordies, football is like a religion.  They live, breathe and eat it.

.

The diehard fans are distraught  and are planning a demonstration next Saturday to make their displeasure known.

.

For the past year the owner has been trying to selll the club for  £100 million pounds which was reduced to a ‘ mere’ £80 million.

.

I wonder why the people of  Tyneside don’t just bite the bullet and raise the capital to buy the club themselves.

If there are 200,00 ardent followers then it would only cost them £400 each to buy the club.

Admittedly they would need running capital, so they would probably need twice that amount in actual fact, but they they would own their lauded St. James’s Park themselves.

.

I think that it would be surprising how many people would contribute.

All investors could be issued with an authentic certificate…..and what a fabulous Xmas present that would make for a true follower.

.

They can certainly count on a £400 investment from me!

.

There are probably fans living in other countries who would love the chance to contribute.
