Old Vase Found In Pinner Semi Is Worth Over £50m.

Hi,

.

You remember my last post telling you to look in your attic.

.

Well, it has happened again.

.

Another amazing amount of money for something found lying around in someone’s house.

Just a 16″ vase with a couple of fish on it, which was kept for many years on top of a shaky bookcase.

So what, it was only worth a few quid, wasn’t it!

.

Actually the correct answer would be ‘No’.

When the owner died his semi was being cleared out and the contents valued as £8oo for probate purposes.

The deceased man’s sister had inherited and was clearing the estate up.

She had found a flyer from Bainbridges Auctions that had been put through her door, so she rang them up.

.

When an expert eventually spotted the vase, he was amazed to see such a thing, as it was a true masterpiece made for the Emperor and bearing the Imperial Seal.

It had somehow travelled from a Royal Palace in Beijing, via an uncle who had travelled in the Far East, to end up totally unappreciated on top of a bookcase in Pinner, Middlesex, just gathering dust.

.

It only went to auction this week and sold for just over £50m didn’t it!

.

The little vase turned out to be a 1740 Qianlong Dynasty Treasure.
