OMG. I feel Seasick. Garrett McNamara Triumphs.
Hey.
.
We are thinking about a visit to our old favourite place, Tynemouth, very soonish….if the weather decides to clear itself up a bit.
Even when it is so cold, a paddle on the shoreline is a real pleasure, although you definitely do lose all feeling in your lower legs.
.
I cannot imagine how pleasant it must be to have easy access to a warm and tropical sea, but then again, life is never perfect because being eaten by sharks is even less appealing than frostbite.
.
Some people however, totally astound the distinctly cowardly types like myself.
People like the legendary Garrett McNamara.
.
This 44 year old surfer has spent a life living to surf, and looking to constantly find that ultimate and equally legendary wave.
His website link.
.
There have been unbelievable waves witnessed in the past.
Reports say that the most huge wave ever recorded officially by scientific types, was found in at Lituya Bay, which is a fjord in Alaska.
It is impossible to believe that that particular wave was recorded as being 520 metres high.
OMG!
.
Garrett recently found his record breaking wave at Praia Do Norte in Nazarre, Portugal.
He broke the record by riding it as it was a tremendous 90′.
The previous record having been held by Mike Parsons, who successfully rode a 77′ wave at Cortez Bank in 2001.
.
So, can you bear to watch it!!!
Here we go then….Garrett breaks world record for surfing the largest wave ever.
.
.
….and, again, in slow motion…
.
.
What can you say to an awesome feat like that.
He is a champion indeed….but sooner him than me!
.
So have a record-breaking one yourself.
J,x.
