You’ve Got A Friend.

HI,

.

One of the best things in life is to spend time with good friends, and this applies to all animals equally.

.

I love this this clip, which shows a wonderful friendship and tolerance between two very unusual creatures.

After all, fun is  fun!

.

.

It reminded me of the lovely friendship between the owl and the pussycat.

.

There was also a wonderful friendship, which was forged between man and beast, in ‘Swinging London’ when I was young.

.

During the late 1960’s a young lion cub was purchased from the high class department store, Harrods, by two young men.

.

The adorable cub was given the name of Christian, and lived happily with them in the capital city.

He played in the graveyard, thanks to an animal loving local vicar, and went out to local restaurants.

.

The young men soon had to let the fast-growing lion go, and he was then lucky enough end up  living in Kenya, eventually being slowly introduced to a more natural life in the wild.

.

In 1972, he was visited there by his two former flatmates from the King’s Road.

.

.

As you saw…. he had not forgotten them!

.

Friendship is a beautiful thing.

Keeping Ahead Of The Game.

Hi,

.

And a really good morning to yourself.

.

It is great here this morning.

There was the usual chilly start to the day, but now we have sunshine and icy blue skies….nice!

.

There are no set plans for us today so far, but if this weather holds then I think we will probably make the most of it and go out to do some shopping.

I have suddenly realised how near we are to Christmas and we need to try and get some of the presents purchased in order to avoid the last minute Xmas scrummage locally, or the equally unpleasant wait to see if presents from the web actually make it to us by Christmas.

.

In the past we have had waits of several weeks for intended presents, which were ordered well before the holiday season, but still arrive with only days to spare.

There have also been occasions when we have had to give up and go to the shops to find alternative gifts, because it eventually became obvious that the intended recipients would go present-free if we did not.

That is the drawback of buying on-line.

.

The other really irritating habit that some on-line sellers have, is to show that the things you wish to order are fully in stock….so you pay for them ….and are later informed that they are not, so you will have to wait for restocking to happen.

The last time they did that to me, it made me feel quite angry and murderous….and that does me no good at all….especially in the season of goodwill to all men!

.

So, there we are then, with a shopping trip to town this afternoon and a hopeful attitude that we will find the majority of the gifts that we need….possibly in a pre-christmas sale!….and if not, then an on-line blitz tomorrow ….with fingers crossed.

.

I don’t know what you have planned, but I hope that it goes well for you.

Take Care,

J,x.

How To Really Stir Up The People.

Hello People,

.

I am feeling quite depressed today.

.

Not only because my visitors have now left, and I miss all of the fun in this once-again quiet house….and not only because of the pouring rain….but also because of that totally undemocratically inclined David Cameron.

.

There has just been a debate in Parliament about the need to give the British people a referendum about the membership of the EU before our country simply disappears up the fundament of the European Union, never to be seen again!

.

It is unbelievable that when we agreed to join with Europe in the first place it was only as a trade agreement, so how the hell has it morphed into something so totally different without any of us agreeing to be ruled by Brussels.

.

The only reason that the referendum actually had to be discussed in Parliament was because of an on-line e-petition which had received over 100,000 votes from the British people.

.

Every succeeding government promised us a referendum  if they got elected, and then reneged afterwards.

Confidence in, and respect for, our politicians, is now at an all time low, not helped by the uncovering of wholesale corruption and greed by people we have trusted to be upstanding.

.

Just about everyone I know is angry about the fact that our Prime Minister is acting like a dictator and refusing to allow the majority to have their say about the EU.

Not everyone will want to leave, but they are all very incensed that he behaves in this way.

.

The eventual vote went his way, but only because he called for a three-line whip….and even then there were 81 rebel MP’s who defied his bullying and still voted for the people to be given their say in a referendum.

.

When you think that this was just a discussion about the possibility of giving the voters their much wanted vote on the subject, it is scary.

.

This is not a democracy anymore.

The people that we vote for tell us lies and refuse to do what the people want….and the voters are sick to death of it!

.

There is now a new e-petition asking for us to leave the EU.

If it receives 100,000 votes too, then the subject will have to be raised in Parliament again, and hopefully we will go on like this until we get what we have been promised so often.

.

Most people I know are going to vote only for the UKIP, if they get the chance, in the next election, so I hope that party will put up their candidates in every possible place.

.

Normally this would never have a chance of happening with the rather traditional and staid British voters, but now their backs are up and their fur has really been brushed up the wrong way!

.

It is better to just keep your promises I think, because now it is becoming personal with the normally politically indolent British people!

Poem: Buddleia.

Buddleia.

A buddleia bush.

Rangy arms thrust

In every direction.

Not tidy, or well ordered,

But decorated like a masterpiece

By butterflies that congregate

Upon vivid blue flowers.

You Can’t Judge A Book By It’s Cover.

Good Morning,

.

I hope I find you having a good day out there.

.

Sorry I have been somewhat  tardy with my posting this weekend, but I am in the middle of enjoying a smashing family visit and am therefore a lot busier than I get to be during my normal days with the ‘still regularly tired-out’ Big H.

.

However, I am sure you will remember Zombie Boy and his unusual body artwork.

.

Well, he is now starring in an ad for ‘Dermablend Professional: Full Body Coverage’.

This is advertised as a Dermatologist recommended leg and body full cover.

.

The ad was shot on location at the Tuxedo Agency in Montreal.

.

I think that he is much prettier with the tattoos myself….what’s your opinion?

Isn’t that a stunningly good advert.
Usually I avoid adverts like the plague ….. but there is always the exception to the rule!

I’m Still In The Dark.

Good Morning Peeps,

.

And so here I am again, in a somewhat familiar place.

Sitting here writing a post in the early hours of the morning, with only the sound of a slight smattering of rain against the windows to keep me company.

.

It is a cold four o’clock in the morning ….. well come on, …. in the UK nowadays it is far too expensive to heat the house overnight.

The central heating will eventually switch on at the much later hour of 7.30, if I have not succumbed to an icy death before then!

.

I am wearing Big H’s thick towelling dressing gown, as well as my own, and my big sheepskin boots, so I feel relatively warm, although I probably do have a bright red nose.

As you know, this has always been my winter look….the luminous red nose that is!

.

The problem tonight has been my painful and stiff neck, which began when I got up yesterday morning.

I have tried lying very straight in the bed, with my neck supported on two fluffed-up pillows, but I just have not been able to sleep comfortably at all.

.

This has not been helped by Big H deciding to lie facing me for a change, and then snoring loudly, as well as doing some strange form of cycling, which involves scratching the side of my leg with his toenails and continually putting his arm across my head.

I got so irritated by him that I was in danger of doing him some not-so-subtle damage….and that would have been unkind!

.

Anyway, it is beautiful to see the world when everyone else seems to be fast asleep.

Tonight there is no moon to be seen and the darkness is heavy.

I find myself realizing how black the night actually is, when you look at the places not covered by the streetlights.

.

No wonder the people living long ago believed in goblins, fairies, and other creatures of the night.

I mean, with tallow candles, they could hardly see the corners of their rooms, never mind anything else.

For anyone with an active imagination it must have been very scary indeed.

.

Talking about scary, there must be a lot of people feeling very scared at the moment because for them today is the end of the world isn’t it…. or perhaps it is not frightening them, because they probably also think that they will be chosen to go straight up to heaven in The Rapture.

But then again, that would surely be scary too….to suddenly rise up into the air, just when you are popping out to buy some bread at the Spar shop…. AND you are looking like a proper dog’s bottom because you thought nobody would see you, so you have no make-up on and your hair needs a wash!

.

Hmmmm …. perhaps I should play it safe and go and have a shower and do myself up a bit….it might ease my bloody neck too!

.

So, here’s hoping we meet again tomorrow.

But if not then I hope that our last day is a good one.

I might take the opportunity to eat lots of chocolate just in case it is a very final sort of day after all.

.

May see ‘ya,

Jaksie,x.

Gentlemen, Let’s Be Upstanding!

Hi,

.

My goodness it was freezing cold here last night.

.

I kept waking up throughout the night because it was so cold….horrible!

When I got up this morning into a chilly bedroom, I gave an involuntary shudder-type thing and felt a sharp crunchy pain in my neck….and now I cannot move it ….and it really really is painful.

.

I bloody hate the winter, and the thought of living somewhere much warmer is beguiling, now that I am faced with the reality of yet another winter here where the sun don’t shine.

It sometimes makes you feel that the blood is freezing in your veins….and that brings me a new thought about blood flow.

.

You know what they always say, that it is a man’s world.

But they don’t actually get it all their own way!

.

You know that I have never thought about it before, but life could be hard for the male of our species at times.

.

Sometimes they cannot help showing exactly how they feel, whether they actually want to or not.

.

Such as the times when…. they suddenly get an inadvertent stiffie….in a public place.

.

Like this would-be superstar on X Factor.

.

.

I think that the judges comments afterwards are hilarious.

.

Or perhaps during a wrestling match.

.

.

It puts a whole new slant on things.

One of the great things about being a female is that no-one actually knows what we are thinking, or how interested we actually are….

….we can play it cool….thank goodness!

.

On second thoughts….sex is a definate way of keeping warm!!!!!

Have a hot one!

J.

.

And….talking about penises….there is definitely something fishy going on here!

China: Child Run Over Twice, Ignored By Passers-By.

Hey,

.

The video contained in this post is an unbelievable one.

.

It shows harrowing footage from the Guangfo Hardware Market, in China, and was recorded on October 13th.

.

A two year old girl, wandering in a road, is hit by a van, which is seen to leave the scene of the accident immediately.

.

The girl then lies there unaided, only to be run over by a second vehicle.

.

For what seems to have been a long period of time, there are 18 people to be seen unconcernedly passing by the stricken child lying in the road.

The 19th person, thought to be a garbage lady, is then seen trying to pick her up and help.

She obviously shouts for someone to help her, at which point the girl’s mother comes onto the scene to get her daughter to hospital.

.

Reports stated that when the child finally received medical help, she was having difficulty breathing on her own, and is currently on the critical list in the hospital.

.

Police are said to have found the drivers of the vehicles involved.

What on earth is the world coming to!

No Arms, No Legs, No Worries.

Hi,

.

We can make life so hard and blame circumstances for things that do not go well.

.

I mean a lot of my friends can consider their day to be ruined if they have a bad hair day.

Bad hair….what about having no arms!!

.

The next clip is an inspirational one.

The lady shown has had to accept a life with no arms….and she has made the most of it, learning to cope people always staring and making comments about her right from her childhood.

Today, Barbara is a beautiful single mom, wearing self-applied mascara and lipstick etc., who stays at home and looks after her family, doing everything that any other young mother would do.

.

Life may have been more difficult for her but she is now in a good place, with a new relationship, which will soon end in marriage to a nice man.

She is living a successful life on her own terms, and blaming no-one.

.

Barbara.
