You should perhaps also consider the merits of a horse, especially one who fetches you a beer and answers the phone.
A pet who also likes to go for a ride with you….but not the usual kind where you get to use a saddle.

You could take your horse out in the car and enjoy a hamburger together, then bring him home and tuck him in for the night.
