the importance of being able to spell correctly
.
the only dragon in the world
was feeling awfully sad
he could not find himself a friend
and that was very bad
.
one day he spied a notice
which was fastened to a tree
and said ‘i’m oh so happy
i’ve found dragons just like me’
.
the notice said ‘do join us
we’re the infantry dragoons*
there’s horses-fighting-uniforms
and military tunes
.
the lonely dragon tried to join
he wrote a smashing letter
doomed to disappointment
‘cos his spelling was not better
.
.
* the gun the dragoons carried
- a dragon was it’s name
but don’t let that confuse you
’twas a musket just the same
.
