Raoul Moat. Police IPCC Investigation.

.

Due to evidence given by bystanders, it is now thought that police officers may have been issued with a new model Tazer shortly before the final stand-off took place in Rothbury.

.

The guns which had not yet been given Home Office approval were distributed to the officers, although such action is lawful if their use is both ‘reasonable and proportionate’.

Witnesses said that the officers  seemed excited, and seemed to be unfamiliar with the weapon when it was unpacked, spending time firing at rubbish sacks as if in practice.

.

Moat is thought to have died as a result of shooting himself in the head with his sawn-off shotgun.

When the inquest opened last week, evidence was given that two officers had fired the XRep Tazers at about the same time that Moat had fired his own gun.

.

Apparently the family of Raoul Moat want a second post mortem to be carried out, claiming that his wounds were not consistent with the stated shotgun death.

.

The death is at present being examined by the Independent Police Complaints Commision, which prevents theWest Yorkshire or Northumbria Police from commenting on the use of tasers.

.

The unarmed policeman who was shot by Moat has now been told that he will be blind in both eyes after receiving a shotgun blast in the face and then another in the shoulder.

.

The facebook page ‘RIP Raoul Moat You Legend’ was roundly condemned by David Cameron and by Moat’s own brother,

Eventually it was withdrawn on the 15th, but a second page was put up within hours.
