Rats R Us.

Good Morning,

.

At least it is a good morning just about anywhere but in Southampton, because the Government and the unions are at loggerheads there.

.

As I wrote recently, there has been a binman’s strike underway in Southampton for several weeks, which has left uncollected rubbish to rot all over the streets of the city.

.

The strike had been due to end in a few days but, unfortunately for Southampton, it is reported now that the unions have decided to extend the strike instead.

.

The place seems to be drowning under the collossal weight of rotting piles of garbage which has been estimated to be around 2,000 tons.

The people are sickened by the stench, frightened that children will be bitten by rodents, and many of the bags have been torn open by various  animals.

.

There are worries about flies, the rat infestation and the dangers of disease, and the warmer weather can only add to the nightmare that has developed.

.

The strikers may now be joined by other council workers such as teachers.
