Shall It Be Walking With Dinosaurs?
Hey,
.
The Bank Holiday weather here is living up to it’s usual excellence.
I have just arisen to be greeted with the greyest, dampish morning you could want to see if you were in a rubbish mood….it would match perfectly.
.
However, having said that, it is still warmish and I can hear the birds singing lustily and the flowers on my patio are blooming better than ever.
There are fat buds on the Wisteria, soft pale green new leaves on my little pot-planted Birch tree, and buds on some of the hanging plants.
.
This morning my feathered friends were happy to receive meat pie crusts, popped corn, feta cheese and bread….no wonder they are all so big and glossy.
I hope that they all breed well this year and replace some of their numbers because some of their species are rapidly disappearing, although many people are doing their bit for all wild animals.
I noticed that the poor little Dove still seems to be alone since it’s mate disappeared, but I am still keeping my fingers, eyes and legs crossed that a feathered Prince charming will turn up soon to rescue her and that they will live happily ever after.
.
Isn’t it daft how we ascribe human emotions to animals, imagining that they feel just as we do, but I used to feel that my cats and dogs felt just as I did and that my dogs understood a lot of what I used to talk to them about.
They did seem to know when I was sad or upset and they did try to comfort me by snuggling close and putting their head on my knee and looking worriedly up at me.
And it helped too!
.
Last night I spent some lovely hours with my smallest visitor, going through my jewellery boxes….
….and my wardrobe.
What fun.
.
I don’t know what will happen today until everyone finally gets up out of their beds but I don’t think a trip to the beach will be suitable unless the sun decides to come out of hiding.
Perhaps a walk by the river or a trip to the Woodhorn Museum and archive in Ashington which is open until May 3rd 2010.
It will be exciting for everyone who enjoyed the BBC’s Walking With Dinosaurs series, and will show some of the wonderful special effects that made it possible to bring to life the lives of Dinosaurs.
It exhibits the innovative science that was used to totally recreate their lives as they roamed the earth 60 or 70 million years ago.
It realy was an exciting series and millions of people became avid fans.
.
There are the life-sized polyurethane heads used in the programme, along with life-sized replicas of the creatures.
Visitors can play interactive computer games and even use blue screen technology to put themselves into ancient landscapes of the period.
.
It only costs £3.95 for adults and £2.95 for children, so that sounds like a bargain to me!
Here is a link for details to anybody else who is feeling stumped for an outing upon a dull day.
.
Or perhaps we will just avoid the stress of travelling the probably overcrowded Bank Holiday roads and just stay at home eating a lot of rubbish and watch Avatar, which is a film I have been looking forward to.
Of course it will not be the 3D version but you cannot have everything.
.
Whatever you finally choose to do, have a marvellous day doing it.
J,x.
