It seems we finally have an answer to the vexing question of “Why is shopping for a good bargain sooooo totally satisfying”.

It seems that scientists at Westminster University have provided us with the answer, once and for all, while doing research commissioned by The Institute of Promotional Marketing.

It seems that for committed shopaholics, special offers can trigger exactly the same level of emotional excitement that they feel when they are sexually aroused.
This applies even to grocery bargains, with milk and bread rating highly.

The volunteers, about 50 of them, were tested by using iMotions.
This is done by using the system to monitor their brain activity, shown in pupil dilation and eye movements, in response to both shopping and erotic images.
For instance, on a one to ten scale, you can expect a score of between 5 and 7 in their response to pornography.
It seems that one sale offer received a score of 5.8, using this system.

That particular offer was apparently a Marmite promotion which offered a free audio-book.
Well, you know what they say…you either really really love it….or you really really hate it!

So, in future, Big H can be assured that me buying more things, because they are a real bargain, is not actually my fault because it is so irresistibly sexy.
Obviously the only way to keep me in the house, is to provide me with more sex on a scale of 6 and above, every time I get the urge to shop for Britain.

On second thoughts, he would probably rather I just went shopping all day!!!
