Son Of Bear.

Hello dear peeps,

.

Today is a very cold one up here in the chilly North East.

I have fished out my big sheepskin boots.  Unfortunately not real Uggs, but a fair copy, and they do keep my feet well toasty.

I have worn these during the winters for most of the last several years ( not this particular pair of course, as they usually only last for one hard -wearing winter before being consigned to the bin), and I have been free from cold feet and painful chilblains since doing so.  Bliss.

.

Really that was just my own, long winded way, of saying that in my opinion winter is now officially with us, and my thoughts are turning to the idea of purchasing a new, improved, electric blanket.

.

However, a very, very, very, nice thing happened to me yesterday.

.

Perhaps you remember me telling you about the antique brass bear that I used to take to bed with me every night, and how he went away, and how I suddenly realised how much I missed him.

Well, yesterday I heard a knock on the door and went to answer it.

It was our postman with a small and intriguing parcel….just for me….and it was rattling.

.

Completely confused, but very keen, I enthusiastically tore away all the wrappings, in record time, and began to pull off the large amount of bubble wrap concealing the mystery object.

OH, if you could only have been there.

It had been sent by Mr T, and it contained a beautiful brass bear who is an exact match for the one who was my childhood friend.

.

He has the same sad face and the same worriedly folded paws…plus, he had a sign sellotaped to his front saying ‘Son Of Bear’.

.

I am enclosing a picture of him so that you can see how lovely he is:

I am putting him back in exactly the same spot as my first one, and I am so glad to have ‘him’ home again.

.

He also has some old coins inside, so I am now richer in many ways.

I hope that my lovely little girl friend is getting as much pleasure from her ‘new’ bear as I did at her age.

.

Have a wonderful day yourself,

Jx
