Still The Usual Suspect.

Hello,

.

I thought we should do something a bit fishy today…..so here it is!

.

I was looking at the Greenland Shark again.

You remember the post where he was eventually thought to be the culprit who causes the strange corkscrew killings that were puzzling researchers into the great numbers of frequent and very mysterious seal deaths…. and he still is!

.

As they are a creature which it is very hard to find out very much about,

.

I decided to put up another video taken last year by a very intrepid photographer, who perhaps felt that his rubber suit would not be on the menu!

Sooner him than Moi!

.

Greenland Shark in the St Lawrence Estuary.

.

This shy creature lives in the far north under the Arctic ice cap, probably going down to depths of up to 2000 metres, but sometimes being found in far shallower waters when they are hunting.

.

|The example shown in the video was filmed when it unexpectedly appeared in the warmer waters of North America’s St Lawrence River and a surprised diver was prepared to swim very close to the huge creature to take his photographs.

.

You have to be amazed at this, when you consider that the Greenland Shark is very much on a par with the feared Great White.

It is known to grow to a length of 20+ feet and weigh around 2200 pounds.

It is no wonder that they are said to eat even bears and reindeer, even though they themselves are said to be poisonous if not prepared by special methods.

No doubt that makes some people keen to consume their flesh in much the same way as Puffer Fish etc.

Never mind, the Greenland Shark is entirely safe from me!!!
