Sugar Cubes.

Greetings from the Far North.
We are enjoying an unseasonably hot day today …. I am not wearing my furry boots …. it is toooo warm for them!!!!

I don’t know what is causing such unseasonably amazing weather, but if I can see people on the streets in their shirts today, then they must be sunbathing in teeny bikinis down in the south.
.
I wondered about it last night when I went to bed and had to get back up to take off the quilt, which has been on top of the duvet for quite some time now, and put my arms outside of the coverings.
How different is that!
.
So, today the sky is a beguiling blue, with fluffy clouds and brilliant sunshine, and I intend to enjoy it.
.
When we went to the dentists the other day, and called in to a cafe for bacon sandwiches and tea, we were also given three rock hard sugar cubes each as sweetening.
Normally we would just ignore the sugar, but on that particular occasion we pinched it.
.
There is a particular walk that we go on where we often see a very hangdog horse (if that is a proper description ), who is all muddy and sad looking.
We usually speak to him as we pass, and he listens, but he gives off a very sad air and seems to be a lonely animal.
.
Well, we went for that walk yesterday and gave him a couple of sugar cubes to make him feel better.
He did not seem to be any happier, but he did give off a couple of contented huffing and puffing sounds.
Hopefully he did feel a bit more appreciated.
.
Of course, being me, I then worried if you are supposed to give horses sugar cubes these days, and would it be bad for his teeth.
I mean, when I was a child, sugar was a big treat for a horse and everybody gave them to them ….but things change, and I don’t know very much about our equine friends.

To be honest, unless they are on the other side of the fence I am nervous because they are so very huge ….but very beautiful .
.
So, unless we go out for Christmas stuff today, I think we may well go back to see the poor thing, with some apples.
Or is that bad for them too!
