Summer Is A-Coming In I Think!
G’Day,
Notice that cunning Australian touch, just to be a bit different!
.
I awoke again this morning to the most outrageously Hollywood Sunday, in full screen technicolour.
The sky is a proper blue, with artistic drifts of wispy white clouds from one corner to the other, and not a sign of the ominous dark grey colour that is usually skulking about somewhere.
The birds are chirping cheerfully, as they should, given that I fed them the minute that I got downstairs.
And all is well with the world.
.
As I went out into the patio, to put out the scraps and seed, I was welcomed by the lovely sight of three of my pot plants showing red and yellow flowers, which was a joy.
I also saw that the flower heads are pushing up through the leaves of my Hyacinths, telling me that soon I can expect to be entranced by one of the most beguiling scents ever created.
The excellent part of it, is that because my patio is really just a posh yard and therefore has the walls of solid high buildings on three sides and a very high 2.5 metre wall on the back-lane side, it is so enclosed that scents do not seem to dissipate away.
When the Hyacinths are blooming and I go out there in the mornings I am met by an intense and thick scent.
Bliss!
.
Today is proceeding in it’s usual fashion, given that it is a Sunday.
Big H has got up and gone to the Spar shop for the Sunday Times.
.
We will sit and read the paper for ages because it is so huge, which is why it costs a massive £2!
It consists of 8 different sections and 3 magazines.
This is very handy because we each have our favourite parts and do not need to squabble over it.
I would not dream of attempting to read the Ingear section, which is about many things…most of them very manly subjects in my opinion.
This morning Big H has read about,
Credit card info,
Afghanistan’s dangerous roads,
Little Chef trying to become a refuelling station for electric cars.
The UK car scrappage scheme running out of money,
Selling the world’s oldest flying car.
Jay Leno going to the Hollywood Oscars, but not in the expected and usual green electric hybrid car, he went in a 3 ton Rolls Royce Ghost and he shocked everyone !
( I like Jay. I saw him on our Top Gear programme once when Big H was worshipping at that Shrine of Petrolheads, and I found him to be totally charming.
No wonder the Americans want to see him on their televisions so frequently.
I believe he personally owns a collection of way over a hundred dream cars.)
Vacuum cleaners,
And of course cars, cars, cars!!
.
I like to read the Home segment, which is full of ‘houses for sale’, none of which I can bloody afford!
.
Neither of us likes the Appointments section, so that goes straight into the bin.
.
So, I shall proceed with my day in the accepted fashion, enjoying the very the ‘summeriness’ of it.
I have just looked out of the window onto the street and I am cheered by the fact that the people are mostly wearing bright colours today.
As they have all been dressing in drab stuff for months I am taking this as a definite sign of winter’s demise.
.
Have a wonderful Sunday yourself!
LOL,
J, x.
