Sunshiny Day.
Hey,
.
Good day to you.
.
I don’t know what it is like where you are but I awoke to sunshine again today.
Now I have instantly forgotten exactly how cold I have been for months and I feel very summery once again.
Hopefully this is not another tease….hopefully this time it is the real thing.
.
The postman has already delivered and that is a very good sign.
I have found that he comes earlier and earlier as the year progresses, moving from anything up to mid-day delivery to just after breakfast.
Not surprising really, as the prospect of getting up in the dark, on a cold winter’s morning, does not have any of the allure to be found in a summer sunrise.
.
Poor old Big H got up at eight-thirty this morning, to talk to the workmen about some rubbish that he wants removed from the cellar now that the insulating work has been finished.
The poor thing is already asleep, all bent over, in his leather chair.
I feel so sorry for him because he does not really have any quality of life at the moment. Roll on the CT scan and the new and wonderful prospect of something finally being done.
.
I think that he is so tired today because he took me over to Tynemouth again yesterday so that we could enjoy some fish and chips for a change of scenery and diet.
It was totally scrumptious and the place was crowded even on a drizzly day.
I had my usual separate dish of mushy peas with mine….and I ate every scrap of it….greedy pig that girl!
.
How Marshall’s has not won one of those awards for their food and service I shall never know because I have been to some of the top award winning fish and chip purveyors and they were not a patch on this place.
.
The enjoyment becomes enhanced over time too, because each time we visit and also enjoy a walk on the beach, explore the weekend market, take a look around the alternative shops, or even a make visit to the Aquarium, it adds to the whole memory picture of the place.
Given that I spent some lovely family holidays in nearby Cullercoats as a child, it is no wonder that it has such a pull for me now.
When I am there I can remember my parents at their most carefree and my brother with a cowlick of hair that always seemed to be sticking up at the back.
Such excellent days brought nearer.
.
Given Big H’s tiredness today I do not foresee very much happening, so I might spend some time painting, that is always a good place to disappear into.
This is a good plan for a Friday and then tonight will be filled with a takeaway, naughty treats, popcorn and beer again.
.
Oh Dear, it is filthy work but someone has to do it!!!!!!!!!!
.
Hope your Friday night will be a fine start to a grand weekend.
