Symmetrical Portraits.
Hello Peeps,
.
Here is an interesting Wednedsday question for you all.
It has to do with the art of photography.
.
Is your face symmetrical or not?.
.
It is an interesting question because a lot of people equate a symmetrical face with beauty.
However some people’s faces can quite clearly seen by the observer to be quite different on each side.
.
How would it look if the face was made up from only one side, so that each half was perfectly matched….would they then be beautiful.
.
A photographer called Julian Wolkenstein, who hails from Australia, had an excellent idea to do exactly this with his subjects.
He used eleven people in order to examine the symmetry of their faces, putting together two right sides and then two left sides to form completely new faces, with each side a true reflection of the other.
Would they then look like the same person or not.
.
The results are quite fascinating, with some subjects being extremely different indeed.
What do you think of them?
.
People have been so fascinated with the whole idea that the photographer has set up a site to enable you to upload your own face and see how you look using the idea,
Over 10,000 people have tried so far.
Of course you need to try and present a blank expression to get the best result.
.
It is an interesting idea because it may show that one side of the face reflects the side of the brain which is the most dominant.
.
While you are on the first site do look at the section ‘Yawning Is Contagious’….it was for me!
.
I love good photography.
Have fun.
