Talk About Being Taken For A Ride.
Hi,
.
Some time ago I did a post about the subway surfers in Russia.
These people jump onto the trains, and travel between stations for the fun and adrenaline fuelled thrills….and obviously kudos amongst fellow travellers.
.
There has just been a YouTube video uploaded which shows that there seems to do noting that is so dangerous that someone or other will not attempt to do it.
.
In the video a gentleman is seen hanging onto the outside of a J train in New York as he catches a ride, much to the shock of other, more safety- conscious passengers, who are riding on the inside of the carriage.
.
Whoaaah!
.
.
Reports say that he eventually got off at the Essex Street stop.
This was a good move because the tunnel really narrows after that and the few inches of space left would not have accommodated a human body….it would most definitely have been the end-of-the-line for that particular subway traveller!
.
In the UK we usually pull the Emergency Cord if something is amiss on a train journey, but perhaps that is not applicable in America.
I don’t know, because I would be scared to go on a subway in New York….and not only for fear of picking up any of those growing numbers of rampant bed bugs.
.
I would however, have been thrilled to have been witness to the wonderful music that the harried, busy and inattentive travellers were once treated to as part of a fascinating experiment, which took place in a subway!
.
So, have a good one, and don’t be tempted to copy this if you see the doors closing as you arrive to catch the train….just go and get a coffee.
Impatience is often not a virtue!
J.
