Hi,

.

Good day to yourself and I hope you are. well and happy.

.

Yesterday was a quiet sort of day and very wet.

We stayed in because Big H is feeling totally tired-out at the moment.

This was not helped when his XBox started to go wrong again.

When he was playing Modern Warfare 2 the skies began to go dark and then it turned spiky and juddery.

Then the blue sky was 70% big black shaking pixelated shapes which seemed to him to look as thought the video card was malfunctioning.

.

He e-mailed Microsoft, but because it was just out of the one year warranty they wanted £86 to fix it.

.

Cunningly he had thought to use his old Xbox 360 (the original console, which had already been replaced by Microsoft for £70 when it had broken with 3 red lights) but the price of a Component to HDMI Connector was about £50.

.

All too expensive!

.

He had also been looking towards increasing the disc drive size because we sometimes download movies onto the hard drive….but there is not enough space left for high definition movies, 9Gb, because of games saves etc.

He had priced replacement hard disc drives (which has now dropped to around £60) but yesterday he decided that, rather than pay Microsoft another large sum of money for repairs to their malfunctioning machines, he would just go ahead and buy a new Elite with 120 hard drive, with HDMI connection and a new warranty.

This Elite cost £178 from Amazon, just slightly more than the cost of the repair and a new 120Gb disk drive?

.

Ahhh, the things men do to get their hands on better boy’s toys!

Everyone knows that buying new shoes is much more important!

.

So, he ordered it yesterday, and it will be delivered today.

You cannot get much better than that.

He was also excited enough to have got out of bed a lot earlier, in order to wait for the arrival of the postman.

.

Technology is a wonderful thing but it can tempt some people into the most awful trouble.

I was reading about a 55 year old guy who has ruined his 25 year career as a Senior Social Worker of good standing.

He was dismissed from his job in August 2008, after admitting to using s digital camera concealed in a sports bag, to enable him to take illicit photographs.

.

The camera had been hidden in a tennis racquet bag, after he had taped down the record button.

Concealment was aided by him putting a piece of fabric over the camera lens to simulate a piece of clothing just sticking out of the gap.

.

He then used his home made device to look up ladies skirts in various stores, resulting in images of thighs, bottoms and semi-revealed genitalia.

When caught he was cautioned for voyeurism, after admitting what he had been doing in order to gain personal gratification.

.

In November 2009, a hearing was held in London by the GSCC….General Social Care Council….and after retiring to consider appropriate sanctions he was removed from their register ‘with immediate effect’.

.

What a shame for him and his family to suffer such long term effects, because of him abusing his position of trust, for what is in effect a cautionary misdemeanor…in this new age of  legal voyeurism in lap dancing venues, adult strip clubs and adult films.

Such a pity!

.

So, enjoy your day and have fun.

J,x.
