Thank God For Weekends.

Good Morning Peeps,

.

Hoping that you are feeling frisky today, and ready for your coming weekend.

.

I am.

It is now a case of Big H and I going a bit stir crazy.

Tomorrow we shall not be setting the alarm in order to ensure that we do not sleep in and then get caught in our dressing gowns by the painters…undressed, unwashed, unemptied and not yet fully awake.

It would definately be counterproductive to be observed in that way.

That’s why despots make sure that they arrive each day in their places of despotism, well before before anybody else does.

.

Seriously though, it will be a relief to be able to get out and about a bit, and do things on the spur of the moment for a couple of days, before it all begins again next week.

But at least we are not the ones having to use the Nitromors and then scrape off all of the horrible old paint.

Now that would be truly dreadful!

.

I felt quite sad yesterday.

I had to dash out mid–afternoon, in order to get more milk for the workmens’ tea, and I met my friend just outside the front door.

.

She looked dreadful and had very dark shadows underneath her eyes.

.

She told me that one of her dogs, the black Labrador, had suddenly died during the week.

His back legs had given way on a walk on Monday and when they got back home he seemed dull and totally off his food.

They looked after him carefully and took him to the vets, where he was given an injection and a check-up, before they were told to take him back home and see how he was over the next few days.

On Wednesday he suddenly became very much worse, so they rang for a Vet, only to be told that there was none available to come out to see him.

.

Unfortunately he rapidly deteriorated  and soon died.

.

Her husband and a son dug a huge hole, and buried their dog in the garden that evening, using floodlights hooked up from the garage, and they have bought Camellias to plant upon his grave in remembrance.

.

I had a job not to cry myself, because he was only five, and he was one of the loveliest natured dogs you could ever hope to meet….a huge boy but a very gentle giant!

.

I really felt for her, because Big H and I still get sad thinking about the dogs that we have have loved, and it takes a long time before you can talk about them without getting very, very upset.

.

Dogs are wonderful creatures, they love you dearly, and only want to be with you.

They protect you, and their only need is for your attention and care.

.

I really miss having dogs around.

.

On that somewhat sad note I shall take my leave of you, and go and cheer myself up with a strong pot of tea.

I shall also steal some of the chocolate covered biscuits we bought for the painters.

Sometimes a bit of sugary rubbish just does the trick!.

.

Don’t forget, it is X Factor tomorrow.

So see you then.
