have some peppermint tea and chamomile at night. it helps
nelly.
Hi There,
By this stage I will try anything….though the best cure is probably to avoid going out at all and to spend the rest of this summer sitting quietly in a dark room feeling very sorry for myself!
.
In actual fact, I am going to try applying industrial amounts of a skin lotion from ‘Avon’ called ‘Skin So Soft’, which is very popular over here with outdoor-type people as it contains lots of things like Citronella….I am told it is very effective.
If not, at least it should improve my skin!
.
I hope you are lucky enough to be bite free this year.
Jacksie.
well, not quite bite free, but i have gotten a few that resulted in a still-swollen foot. reactions on top of reactions
chalamine is phenomenal.
have you tried this yet ?
http://www.aveeno.com/skincare/products/calamine-pramoxine-hci-anti-itch-cream
it’s not expensive and it’s instant relief. that, plus this

saved my derriere last year with the 80+ bites
nelly
Thanks for the information.
.
I looked at the websites you gave and the products seem excellent, especially as you tested them so thoroughly for us….my goodness, 80+ plus bites….torture!
.
Funnily enough I can remember my mother smothering us with Calamine lotion in the long ago years of my chilhood.
It came in a brown screw topped bottle and was smeared on liberally ’til we were covered on a thick pink dried crust which used to flake off all over the place for the rest of the day.
.
Obviously this is a more user-friendly modern version, and it really did help to relieve our itch.
.
Sorry to hear about your foot, obviously you must have been out in the wilds taking more of your excellent photographs….another case of artists suffering for their art?
.
Thanks again, take care.
Jacksie
