The Darkest, Most Haunted, Place In Italy

Hey,

.

Recently I was reading about Venice and I came across the island of Poveglia, which has a most awful history and appears to be closed to both locals and visitors, although psychics seem to be permitted to visit on occasion.

.

There are many stories about it.
It apparently housed a small community at one period, but was abandoned in about the 1300’s.

.
It was used as a dumping ground for hundreds of thousands of bubonic plague victims, both dead and alive, who were put into mass graves.
.
It was also a powder magazine for Napoleon.

.

Many convicted criminals were said to be sent there for execution.
.
A hospital for the insane was then built there, the story being that the doctor in charge began doing his own medical experiments and crude lobotomies on his helpless patients.
The tale is that he eventually went mad himself and ended up killing himself by jumping off the bell tower.
.
This bell tower still stands and still rings, even though the bell was removed long ago.
.
Whooooooo……
.
If you are in the mood to be scared then here is a video from a group of paranormal investigators who went to explore the island, and it’s history, as one of the most haunted places on earth.
Whoooooh!
.

.

So, don’t ever say that I don’t bring you different things!

Sleep well tonight,

J,x.
